A special meeting of the
NYS/Long Island Region Small Scale Food Processors

January 11, 2005
2:15 PM to 5:00 PM
Riverhead Library

This is an opportunity for small-scale and home-based food entrepreneurs to meet and share their concerns, and to discuss local and state issues regarding their businesses. Among the subjects to be discussed are the possibility of an Incubator Kitchen for the use of Long Island food entrepreneurs, and the potential for a Long Island Food Fair encompassing entrepreneurs in the gourmet niche marketplace.

An Incubator Kitchen, like the Foodworks in Poughkeepsie , NY and its counterparts at Morrisville and Adirondack , NY , is a commercial kitchen fully equipped for the use of food entrepreneurs who need industrial work and production space to expand their businesses. Food entrepreneurs schedule all or part of the facility for use according to their needs.

The meeting, which will be held at the Riverhead Library, will help to determine if there is enough interest among Long Island 's small-scale food processors to implement an Incubator Kitchen and a Food Fair. Speakers from the Small Scale Food Processors' Association will present the project.

Independent entrepreneurs, as well as members of the SSFPA, are invited to attend to offer suggestions and opinions.

Refreshments will be served.
